“From teacher to entrepreneur - How to make the progression”
Duncan Wilson was a teacher in a secondary school for 16 years during which time he taught science and ICT whilst also gaining valuable experience as Head of Department and Head of Year. He started off by creating online resources for his teaching practice but over the last 6 years he worked as a full time teacher by day and Teacherpreneur by night - developing innovative web based applications for the education sector. He started off with £50 of his own money and is now running a company with 5 employees and an annual turnover in excess of £150,000. Duncan won NDLE 2013 for Class Charts and left teaching in September 2013 to focus on his business - Edukey Education.
