Russell is an award-winning International ICT evangelist, author and broadcaster and has been working in education since 1985. He speaks to education conferences about exciting uses of ICT, trains educators, leads student workshops and advises key UK education players on their strategic development.
In 2005, Russell wrote ‘The Science of Evangelism’ book, to help others improve their audience presenting skills. He is always looking to design new products that assist young people with the business of learning and his ‘cre8txt’ phone keypad based USB PC keyboard has helped young people type into a computer without having to learn the QWERTY layout.
In September 2009, Russell started designing and making School Radio Stations that use technology to help learners develop their speaking & listening skills. According to him, young people love to broadcast, but great shows demand quick thinking, brilliant communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in teams. Russell also spends a few days each week in schools and colleges teaching young people how to harness the power of this technology.
Russell also broadcasts a live Internet radio show each month to audiences from across the world. Last year over 40 million people tuned into one of Russell’s shows to hear him live. Working with Education Innovation, Russell has created EICE Manchester Radio, a live Internet Radio station that will broadcast live from the event in February 2014.
