Data tracking tool launched for nurseries and schools

Early Essence to Primary Essence has been developed by Primary school teacher Scott Parkin and web developer Adam Mawson. The tool is an online, live data tracking system designed for nurseries and schools to forecast future struggles or successes for students.

The multilingual data management tool enables instant access through investigative data, which describes the past, present and future learning of individual pupils. It also analyses this performance at group (Special Educational Needs, boys, girls), whole class/cohort and full school level.

Parents can access current developmental information on their child’s progress and attainment in real time at more regular points throughout the year. It provides collaboration between teachers, parents and pupils by allowing access to a one package to measure pupil progress in key assessment and reporting areas, which are currently recorded separately within schools from Special Educational Needs to historical data storage.

Early Essence is developed for the pre school sector and aimed at the private nursery market and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) teams in primary schools. It enables parents and children to track progress and attainment through video, photos, graphical, numerical and personalised comments. The system will also support early years providers in assessment and delivery of the new Statutory Framework for EYFS 2012, which became mandatory on 1 September 2012.

The Early Essence package integrates with Primary Essence, enabling all information about the whole child to be instantly transferred through to primary practitioners.

Successfully piloted in four Yorkshire schools, Early Essence to Primary Essence is now ready to roll out nationally. For more information, visit www.earlyessence.co.uk or www.primaryessence.co.uk
