Hotels.com research shows children dreaming of technology future
A Hotels.com study has revealed that two in five children would like to have a career in technology, with half as many wanting to pursue one in entertainment.The research polled 2000 adults and children across the UK. It revealed 16.7% of children aspired to be like Steve Jobs and 17.5% Richard Branson, while Simon Cowell gained 9.6% and Barack Obama 4.3%.
The study also revealed the gadget inventor makes the top four list of most wanted children’s careers with 9.3%, ahead of doctors (7.8%) and pilots (9.3%). IT was shown to be one of the top four favourite subjects, with over a third (34.9%) wanting to continue studying IT or Science at university.

Hotels.com is part of the Expedia group. The study conducted featured one poll containing 1000 adults from 18 years old and 1000 children between the ages of 8-15 years. It was undertaken from August 24 to September 3, 2012.
