Registration is now live for the #SLTeachMeet that will start at 4.00pm in the Yellow Seminar Room in the main exhibition hall at Manchester Central.
For those who haven’t come across an SLTeachMeet yet, this is a chance to hear in an informal and lively fashion the best practice of your SLT peers, all from a wide range of settings, experiences and environments. Attendees don’t have to pay to attend a TeachMeet, and in addition, anyone can offer to speak! This event is sponsored by Toshiba Education.
The desire for an SLTeachMeet came from #SLTchat, a hashtag chat held every Sunday night, and started by Ross McGill, aka @TeacherToolkit. While digital chats were useful, there was a desire to have actual face-to-face meetings in an environment that is rarely-offered traditionally around school leaders. Stephen Lockyer (@mrlockyer) suggested the idea to Ross, and #SLTeachMeet was born!
Organiser Stephen Lockyer says:
“We are excited about the event in Manchester, and can’t wait to hear what the Manchester SLT have to say for themselves; though of course, anyone is welcome to speak!”
